The AMUSF Stage 2 course is designed for those who have completed Stage 1 or have previous upholstery experience. This course combines traditional and modern materials with appropriate techniques for making and repairing upholstery.
Through defined projects and hands-on workshop practice, you will learn core principles and practices of the sector with a clearly defined pathway. The course allows for creative freedom within assignments, including applying decorative effects and print. Our team of tutors and visiting experts will develop your craft knowledge, providing an inspiring learning experience.
The AMUSF Stage 2 qualification focuses on expanding your skill set and understanding of upholstery. This course introduces advanced techniques and more challenging projects, ensuring you develop a comprehensive knowledge base.

Stage 2 Assessment Projects
By the end of Stage 2, you will have mastered advanced upholstery techniques suitable for a wide range of furniture styles, including expert fabric and material selection. You will be capable of independently completing intricate upholstery projects and will be well prepared for completing the final Diploma year.
Our AMUSF Stage 2 course is open to anyone with a background in upholstery. While completing Stage 1 is beneficial, it is not a mandatory requirement. We welcome applicants who have gained significant experience through practical work or other relevant training.
This course is ideal for those who are confident in their foundational upholstery skills and are eager to advance their expertise in both traditional and modern techniques. Duration: 35 weeks term time, one day per week (210 hours of tuition)
Tuition Fee: £3,000
Exercises and Materials: £200
AMUSF Courses Registration Fee: £72 (payable directly to the AMUSF)
We require a £500 deposit at the time of booking, followed by ten monthly payments of £270.

Upon receipt of your application, you will be sent the deposit invoice via email, which will include the studio/exercise fee. The following invoices will be issued on the 21st of each month (September to June).
