The Stage 3 course is the highest level of AMUSF upholstery training, designed for those who have completed Stage 2 and seek to master both traditional and modern upholstery techniques. This course prepares you for a professional career in upholstery, offering advanced skills, historical knowledge, and business acumen.
Additionally, professional upholsterers and highly proficient hobbyists can enroll in this course to earn a trade-approved diploma, further enhancing their expertise and credentials in the field.
During your upholstery diploma year, you will learn advanced techniques such as fitting caps and collars, scroll arms, stitched-up edges, deep buttoning, and fluting. The projects will incorporate both traditional and modern furniture styles, including complex pieces with curved and tailored designs.

In addition to practical skills, we will help equip you with essential skills for succeeding in the upholstery industry. You’ll learn to estimate materials and labour costs accurately, which is crucial for managing project budgets and ensuring profitability.
Tutors will cover basic business essentials, including fire safety regulations and insurance, and answer any questions you may have on starting your own upholstery business (if this is your goal).
For students who have completed the AMUSF Stage 2 course, progressing to Stage 3 offers the opportunity to master upholstery techniques at the highest level. AMUSF Courses Registration Fee: £72 (payable directly to the AMUSF)
We require a £500 deposit at the time of booking, followed by ten monthly payments of £278.

Upon receipt of your application, you will be sent the deposit invoice via email, which will include the studio/exercise fee. The following invoices will be issued on the 21st of each month (September to June).
